Not long after she was taken to the dungeon, the gates were opening again, and she was being dragged out. “Where are you taking me?” Ruby questioned, trying to free her wrist. “Hey, let go! I said I won’t leave till I see Delphine. If you kick me out, I’ll only come back.”
“We are taking you to the Alpha, now keep quiet.” It was the same guard who had found her at the border. His tone showed that he was already annoyed from tough times with Ruby. “You know, I wouldn’t be surprised anymore if the Alpha’s mate was actually your cousin. This is the same way she behaved when she first got here… maybe it runs in the blood.” Ruby ignored him. She decided not to fight anymore since he was taking her to the Alpha. She knew Delphine would be with him.
The way people looked at her, Ruby suspected that it wasn’t every day people saw someone being led away like that. She wasn’t surprised, though, Bloodmoon pack was among one of the most feared, and one was either stupid or really brave to challenge them.
“Is Delphine with the Alpha?” she asked the man, ignoring the looks from the people. “Is she with the Alpha?” she asked again.
“I do not know,” he said. “When we get there, we’ll see for ourselves.”
Ruby let out a grunt. “The only stubborn person here is you!” All the guard did was laugh. It was obvious he was enjoying her frustration.
“Just remember one thing, when before the Alpha, you must show respect. I may have condoned your stubbornness, but it won’t be tolerated if you even think of disrespecting the Alpha and his mate.”
“I understand.”
