After the kiss, Delphine had been the one ignoring Damien. She had forgotten about all her worries concerning the race; all she could think about at that moment was the kiss. It had been easy avoiding him because he also avoided her… but that was because she told him to. He would leave before she woke up from sleep and come back to bed when he thought she was already asleep, now sleeping on the couch, never on the bed with her.
Delphine wanted to talk to someone about it, someone who had more experience in things like that. She couldn’t meet Lila because though she didn’t know much either, she doubted Lila knew anything about what to do after you’ve kissed a guy. She couldn’t meet Damien’s mum, that would just be weird, and she couldn’t talk about it with the palace help; her only other option was a person she dreaded, Daciana.
“No way am I going to meet her.” She shook the idea away from her head. “Maybe I’m thinking about this too much; I mean it’s just one kiss,” she muttered. “It’s nothing serious.”
“What’s not serious?”
“Lila!” Delphine screamed, her hands flying to her chest. “What have I told you about sneaking up on me? You are going to give me a heart attack one of these days.”
Lila chuckled, entering the room. “I wasn’t sneaking up on you; you were the one lost in your thoughts. Daciana sent me.”
“Speak of the devil,” Delphine muttered.
“What did you say?”
