Damien knocked hard on the door again. “Vivian, come out, I know you’re in there.”
“Damien?” Hurried steps were heard, followed by Vivian pulling the door back. “What are you doing here? Did you come to see me?” She had on a towel, her hair was wet. “Have you been knocking for a long time? Sorry, I was in the shower.”
“Yes, I came to see you.” When the smile on her face grew bigger, Damien thought it would be better if he went straight to the point. “Actually, I came to warn you. What is your problem?”
She frowned. “Came to warn me? What do you mean?”
“You don’t have to pretend, Vivian, you know why I’m here. Listen, I didn’t end things with you because of Delphine. Our relationship was already dead months before that. I only used Delphine as an excuse because I thought it wouldn’t hurt your feelings as much knowing I was breaking up with you because of my mate, and not because I was just tired of the relationship with the truth.”
“So you don’t love her? Well, that’s good. Damien, you don’t have to worry about my past anymore. If I try to work on myself, will you come back to me?”
