The man sat alone in his room. In his hands, he held a glass ball, which had, from inside of it, bright rainbow colors swirling around. His eyes were closed; it looked like he was deep in meditation or some ritual, due to his white attire and the strange words he kept muttering.
Paluma didn’t like what he was seeing. At first, he said he wouldn’t get involved, but he didn’t like what he was seeing. He didn’t know how far Vivian would go just to get Delphine out of the picture. He had been trying his best to stay away, to watch Delphine learn to grow on her own, but Delphine couldn’t grow if she was already dead.
Ruby walked in to find her uncle thinking again. She didn’t need to ask; she already knew what was bothering him. “It’s Delphine again, isn’t it? What’s happening this time? I hope she didn’t get hurt.”
“No, not yet. But there’s someone trying to hurt her. Delphine is scared. I’m worried.” He opened his eyes. The moment he did this, the ball turned black immediately, and he dropped it. “We should be there protecting her.”
“She will be fine. She has found her mate, right? The Alpha? He will take care of her," she assured him. From what had been shown earlier, the Alpha seemed to really care about Delphine. She was his mate, after all. Ruby believed he wouldn’t harm Delphine, though she was worried, she didn’t say this to her uncle because her worry wasn’t going to help.
Paluma sighed. “You’re right, I do worry too much. Delphine will be fine, but if things get—”
“Then I myself will go there and watch over her. You don’t need to worry.”
