Now that everyone knew who Delphine was, she didn’t have the privacy she had once enjoyed. It seemed everyone wanted to get her attention, and she didn’t mind this. In fact, Delphine was really happy with the attention she was getting, but it made her feel uncomfortable sometimes because she wasn’t used to it. Sometimes Delphine just let herself enjoy the feeling, but then, she feared betrayal. Also, she didn’t know what was to become of her now that Damien had introduced her to his pack as his mate.
“You know, who would have believed that the girl that was dragged in here the other day would turn out to be the mate of the Alpha?” Lila chuckled. “This is crazy, I can’t believe you will one day be the Luna of this pack.”
“No.” It was Delphine’s turn to laugh. “Nobody said anything about becoming Luna.”
“What do you mean? Now that Damien has introduced you as his mate, you are to become the Luna of this pack. Oh, this will be fun.” She let out a squeal. “I can’t wait to boast to everyone that my best friend is going to become the Luna of this pack. Then no one will dare mess with me again, or else by the power of the Luna, I will send them to the dungeon.” Delphine couldn’t help but laugh at the look on Lila’s face.
“Thank you so much, Lila.”
“For what?”
“Everything. Honestly, if it wasn’t for you, I think I might have gone crazy. You have been an amazing friend to me so far, and I’m forever grateful.”
“Oh, don’t thank me for that. Besides, if you are so grateful like you claim,” she wiggled her eyebrows at Delphine, a mischievous smile on her face, “then you will have to give me all the food you can gather whenever I come over.”
