Vivian had been waiting for hours, and after not seeing Michael, she decided to give in to the sleep call, but just then, the door was kicked open. Vivian jumped up to see Michael running into the room, breathing heavily. “Michael, I’ve been waiting for you. Where have you been? Where is the brat?”
“Vivian, can you please shut up? I barely escaped with my head, and I really do not need your questions.”
Vivian frowned as Michael collapsed on the chair beside her. “What do you mean by you nearly escaped with your head? What happened to you?”
“Your Alpha happened and that…what’s his name again, the beta?”
“Luca? That bastard. What did he do? Wait.” She jumped up, running to the window to look out, then turned back to Michael, a scared look on her face. “Did they follow you? They didn’t see you come here, right?”
“No.” He eyed her. “The moment I passed the border, he stopped chasing me.”
“What about Delphine, you didn’t see her?”
“I saw her alright, I grabbed her also. I did my part, and I was able to draw her out of the crowd, but then just as I was about to take her out, your Alpha showed up. I was surprised to see him, my hold got weak, Delphine escaped, and I was chased out…” He paused when he saw the annoyed look on Vivian’s face. “Why are you looking at me that way?”
