The incident from last night still hasn’t left Delphine’s mind as she wondered if it was someone from the RoseBlood pack that had been sent to get her. She didn’t think they would come for her, though, didn’t think she meant that much. She was scared, she didn’t want to return.
“Delphine.” It was Damien. He knocked on the door, calling her name softly. “Are you decent? I heard from Lila that you came up to take your bath.”
She eyed the door. Delphine wasn’t really angry with Damien, in fact, she was grateful. She had spent time wondering what would have happened if he hadn’t shown up when he did and wondered more on what exactly would have happened to her. “Yes, I’m decent,” she said, getting under the covers. She pulled them up to her chin and lay to sleep as Damien walked into the room.
“Hey, are you okay?” he asked, still standing by the door.
“I’m fine.”
“About what I said earlier…I didn’t mean to—”
“If you’re going to apologize to me, please don’t.”
Damien sighed. “Why?”
