King Magnus's POV
I watched Aria sleep peacefully, her head resting on my shoulder, her soft breathing the only sound in the car. A small smile tugged at the corner of my lips as I thought about how she had pouted all evening, pretending to be mad at me for not picking her up from school earlier. She was so adorable when she tried to act tough, and I couldn’t help but find it endearing.
As we drove through the quiet streets, the weight of her exhaustion was evident. The day had been long, and after all the pampering and shopping, it was no surprise she had fallen asleep so easily. I reached out to gently brush a strand of hair away from her face, admiring the way the soft light from the car illuminated her features. My little woman.
Suddenly, the car came to a stop, and I realized we had reached her house. I glanced out the window and frowned slightly. The apartment was small, tucked away in a quiet area at the edge of the Pack’s territory. It didn’t sit right with me—this wasn’t the kind of place where my mate, the future queen, should be living. It felt too exposed, too unsafe, especially considering all the enemies we could have lurking in the shadows.
I looked toward Fergus, who was sitting in the front seat next to the driver, his sharp eyes already scanning the surroundings. I leaned forward slightly and spoke quietly so as not to wake Aria.
“Fergus, I want you to find a new apartment for them. Something bigger, safer, and closer to the Pack’s center. I don’t like this place. It’s too far out and leaves them vulnerable. I want it bought by tomorrow.”
Fergus nodded immediately. “Understood, Your Majesty. I’ll take care of it first thing in the morning.”
I leaned back in my seat, my gaze shifting back to Aria. I didn’t want to wake her, not when she looked so peaceful, but I also didn’t want her to spend another night in this place. Quietly, I opened the car door and slid out, making sure to move carefully so I wouldn’t disturb her. Then, with gentle precision, I lifted her into my arms, holding her securely against my chest.
