“Are you sure about this?” Zane asked Bianca seriously, adding, “I already intended to reward her in cash. She’s a friend of Coco, meaning she might just be broke and did it to win your favor.”
On the hospital bed, Bianca was upset by Zane’s words. Before now, all she thought about was her fame and glamorous impending wedding. However, being on the verge of losing her life, she realized that there were more important things than fame and money.
Being human mattered more than bossing people around. No one was able to help her except the very person Zane had fired because of Bianca, so what if Mr. Newman had not intervened? Michelle would not have survived, so Bianca could have lost her life.
“How can you even think that? If she wanted my favor, she wouldn’t have pulled my hair and not after Mr. Newman stood up for her after you fired her. She saved my life, so giving up a role of 10 million is nothing. I already have two more scripts worth more than that and can still get more.”
Zane was more worried about the future than the present. The money Mr. Newman had agreed for the actors to be paid was lower in comparison to the other scripts Bianca had, but he also promised to give the movie good publicity, and that meant more fame for the actors.
More fame also meant more contracts, which equally meant more money in the future. “You know that if she gets this role well, it could also give her the opportunity to outshine you, right?”
Bianca’s near-death experience somehow opened her eyes to the realities of life. She asked seriously, “Assuming I was dead, would that matter anymore?”
Zane was met with a sad realization. “I guess not. I will make that call.”
