Zora felt at a loss. If the producer sacked her, then who was this man to tell her otherwise? Perhaps it was because he hadn’t seen what had transpired earlier. She tried to explain it to him. “But…”
“He’s Mr. Newman,” Coco took the words out of her mouth. Zora stared at her with confusion on her face, not knowing who Mr. Newman was. Coco understood the confusion on her face, going on to explain.
“The biggest investor of the production. He must have seen everything through the CCTV.” It was one of Mr. Newman’s hobbies to casually check if his money was being put to good use.
One of his clauses was also to bring up new faces in the movie industry, as viewers tend to get tired of the old ones unless they are extremely good. It was better for him to weigh his options the right way.
Zora was glad the studio had cameras. At least there was someone higher than Zane to give justice to someone like her. She stole a glance at Mr. Green, seeing how the man had paled, and even Bianca had moved away from him and was seated quietly in a corner.
Nobody wanted to offend Mr. Newman, lest he withdrew his funding for the movie. The director was elated, as it echoed in his voice.
“New girl, why don’t we start with you,” the director said. Zora, the last to arrive, could only assume she was the new girl he was referring to.
Filled with the desire to tell him to address her properly since her form was in front of him, she thought of this investor, who had stood up for her and was like a father, deciding to accord him the needed respect.
