A wave of undeniable fear gripped me as Devyn dragged me with such force that it made me feel dizzy.
I slapped Devyn.
In front of everyone.
He was always on his bad side, and I certainly knew the right buttons to push to keep him that way. I wasn't even sure if he had a good side. The slap, however, had put me straight on his worst side.
I could tell from the rising heat emanating from his body as rage brewed within him, and from the painful vice grip on my arm as he dragged me along with him.
Desperation drove me as I looked behind, hoping anyone would step up and come to my rescue. I wasn't surprised when no one stepped out. They treated this guy like he was God and feared him. My heart squeezed hard in my chest when my gaze fell on Liam. He had his head turned in the other direction, like he was trying to avoid looking at us. I bit my lip hard, suppressing the urge to scream for him to help me.
I had no clue where Devyn was taking me, or what he was going to do to me, and that made my current situation so much worse.
He was a dangerous man, I knew that much; though I hadn't seen the extent of it. And I was starting to think he was actually going to kill me.
