I felt a pair of hands on me, but I didn't open my eyes, still too tired to care. I finally opened my eyes when I felt like I was being moved. My eyes hurt as they were still hazy with sleep, so I kept them half-lidded, just so I could get a glimpse of what was going on. I saw that my surroundings seemed to be moving, and then I finally realized that I wasn't dreaming; I was actually being moved.
I shot my head up so fast that it ached. I saw that Kayden was the one carrying me. He had me securely wrapped in his arms, and he was carrying me to my room, bridal style. My sudden movements must have alerted him to my consciousness.
"Ssh… Don't say anything, just go back to sleep. You're safe with me," he hushed and whispered to me sweetly, and I don't know why, but my body just relaxed instantly. I hadn't known him very long, but I knew that I could trust him.
I closed my eyes once more, and I felt him place me on something soft that sank instantly. I immediately realized it was my bed. I would have mumbled a thank you to him if I could speak, but since I couldn't, I just placed my hand on his and smiled. I didn't know why, but I was feeling impossibly tired today; maybe it's because of the fact that I haven't been able to sleep properly for days, or it was because of my pregnancy, or a combination of both, but I couldn't care right now. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep once more.
I stirred a bit and opened my eyes a little. I yawned and opened them fully, and then I saw Elsie sitting beside me and staring at me lovingly. I began wondering what she was doing.
I shot up quickly, but it turned out to be a bad decision, as my vision blurred instantly. She quickly helped me sit up properly.
"Please don't get up so quickly like that again; it's not good for you or your baby's health," she advised, and I sighed. There was no need to fuss about this baby anymore because I was going to terminate it today. The sooner this is over, the sooner things can get back to normal—ugh, as if anything had ever been normal.
