"You alright?" Rhodes asks me as the door swings shut behind us, him holding me by my bent elbow, peering down at me.
I tilt my head up towards him and smile. "Yeah, I'm good. Your mum and your sister are wonderful," he scoffs with a soft grin.
"Wonderful wouldn't be the word I would use, but I'm glad you like them. And they liked you, you can stop all your worrying now," he tells me gently. I sigh with a grin and lean my forehead against his chest, breathing in deeply. This day may not turn out to be a total disaster like I had feared it might. Rhodes's hand runs through my hair gently before I tilt my head back up to him. His face is warmed by the soft glow of the sun. He seems more calm here despite his protests.
"Well, are you going to introduce me to more people?" I ask him with a grin. He leans his head down and presses his lips to mine in response. He pulls his lips back from mine when a loud female voice from behind me begins to squeal.
"Rhodes! I'm so happy to see you!" I turn my head around to see a perky blonde with a wide grin making her way towards us. Rhodes smiles gently and his hands slip from my waist as he wraps her in a hug.
"Good to see you, Emily. How are you?" he says as they embrace. I watch on, smiling; they don't look too similar, so I wonder how they're related.
"I'm doing good, just got back from my trip. We haven't seen each other in so long! I've missed you," she replies, keeping her arms wrapped around his waist. He nods his head before he glances up at me.
"Emily, this is Amelia. Emily's a family friend," he introduces the two of us and Emily finally unwraps her arms from around him. Oh, so no relation.
