I'm woken up by the sound of a foreign alarm blaring loudly through my tiny bedroom. My body forces itself upright at the unknown sound as I turn my head to see Rhodes groan and stretch his arm out to the side table.
"Relax, bub, it's just my alarm," Rhodes says in a husky voice as he shuts off the sound and rubs his hands over his eyes. That's right, he's going to Paris.
"What time is it?" I ask, allowing his hand on my shoulder to gently coax my body back down onto the bed.
"4:15. Ambrose will be here to pick me up in 15 minutes," he mumbles as he presses a kiss to the top of my head. I curl my arm around his waist and lay my head down on his chest, slightly propped up by some pillows.
"Poor Ambrose," I mumble sleepily. "You keep him so busy." Rhodes's chest rumbles softly as he releases a quiet chuckle.
"I pay him well enough; he'll sleep when he retires, as will I." I blink my eyes quickly to keep myself as awake as possible; I won't see Rhodes for the rest of the week, and if I have fifteen minutes to spend with him, I would rather be conscious for it.
"Do you have to go?" I moan softly, tilting my chin up to look at him, finding his gaze already fixed on me. He presses his lips together and nods his head, tucking some stray hair behind my ear as he does.
"I do, love, but I'll be back before you know it. It's not too late for you to join me either," he raises one of his eyebrows, his lips forming a cheeky smile.
