"My mum said she felt very safe and comfortable. That's not normal, and I wanted him to know that I appreciated it," I say before another thought pops into my head. "Did you insist to him that he calls me 'Miss Kendrick' or 'Miss Amelia'?"
Rhodes nods his head as he turns the corner. "Yes. It's more professional."
"But he doesn't really work for me," I point out.
"He works for me so he works for you, babe," Rhodes replies quickly. A small grin creeps onto my face.
"Well, if that's so, then as one of his bosses, I would like to give him extended Christmas leave." I turn to watch Rhodes's reaction; his calm demeanor breaks as he chuckles lightly.
"Oh yeah?" he asks with a laugh, one of his eyebrows raised.
"Yes. And I'd like to give him a pay rise or a bonus. Or both," I say with faux confidence. Rhodes runs a hand through his hair before placing his hand on my knee, giving it a soft squeeze.
"A bonus?" Rhodes asks. I nod.
