"So how was the rest of your night after we left you guys?" Poppy asks me with a mischievous grin as she takes off her Danteet. I invited her over to my apartment under the guise of helping me declutter my closet. I wanted to see the look on her face when I tell her that I've agreed to move in with Rhodes. Knowing she's a massive fan of ours, I wanted to give her the magical gift of being the first to know.
"Well, it was a really great evening actually. We went home and made pizzas," I begin with a sheepish grin as we start unpacking our takeaway boxes. Thai food for lunch, why the fuck not? I'm kind of rich now, so I can afford more than crackers or two-minute noodles.
"Homemade pizzas? That doesn't seem like Rhodes's type of thing," Poppy asks in a surprised tone as she sits down on the floor across from me. I open up my Pad Thai and pick up a fork.
"Well, it took us a while to actually make the pizzas because he asked me to move in with him and gave me a car," I mumble quickly, stifling a laugh as she almost chokes on her Diet Coke. After a few spurts of coughing, she manages to ask,
"He asked you to move in with him? Well, what the fuck did you say?" Her eyes light up as I nod my head slowly, unable to keep the grin off my face.
"I said yes," I tell her quietly as she erupts into high-pitched squealing.
"YOU'RE GOING TO LIVE WITH A FUCKING MILLIONAIRE!" she half-screams as she hops up and down from her seated position. I reach across the table in between us and clamp my hand over her mouth, unable to stop my own laughter.
"No, I'm not! I'm moving in with my boyfriend, he just happens to have money." Her mouth pours out with a wide grin as she tilts her head to the side.
