Evelyn swallowed thickly as she got up from her position. The omega had no doubt that the alpha was going to give her hell when he got her alone.
"I'm sorry, Luna. It seems like we made the alpha upset," Josh tugged on his curly hair, his head heavy with guilt.
"It's not your fault," Scarlett interfered. "Keiran is the one who's supposed to teach his mate this, but he's not doing that. He has no right to be upset," she furrowed her perfectly shaped eyebrows in disdain.
Evelyn only stayed silent. Scarlett wasn't happy about how her son treated his mate. Even if she is an omega, Evelyn is still a human being. She shouldn't be mistreated for being something she didn't choose to be.
"I'll talk to him," the former Luna breathed out, causing the omega to look at her wide-eyed.
"No, no, it's okay," the girl refused. She didn't want to cause an argument between the mother and son. The alpha loved his mother dearly. She didn't want to be the reason for them having an argument. He already hated her enough. This would only add to it. "I'll manage," she said with a wavering smile.
"Will you be okay?" Rain questioned, the omega's doe eyes shining with worry.
Evelyn tried her best to play it cool. "Of course! Why wouldn't I be?" She laughed.
