Damien decided not to go for a run that morning, rather a walk, with Delphine by his side. He had woken up with a big urge to spend some special moments with his mate. Something he’d always had, but for days he had been avoiding Delphine because he thought she didn’t want him close to her. But ever since yesterday, they’d gotten even closer although it had just been a day.
“Where are we going?” she asked. She had asked him before, but he refused to tell her.
“You’ll see,” he said, giving her the same reply he’d given earlier. “We’re almost there.”
The area was quiet, far away from people. They had been walking for over twenty minutes and at a point Delphine was tempted to ask him to carry her. “You’re not going to kill me, right?” she teased, gripping his hands tightly, looking around.
A devilish smirk came on his face. “Not yet.” He giggled. “Maybe later, you’ve been really stubborn lately.”
“What?” She frowned at him, her nose scrunched up in a cute way.
He pulled her closer to him, but she nudged him away playfully. “I’m kidding, I’m just messing with you… If you must know, we’re just going to have lunch.”
Food in mind, her face lit up immediately. “Lunch? Couldn’t we have had lunch back at the palace? You want that in the woods?”
