Piper’s eyes were red. The slap stung deep, her cheeks burned. “How dare you slap me? You pretended to be my friend at first just to get information on Ezrah. News flash. He doesn’t want you and he never will,” Piper taunted Michelle.
The slap was too much, and she would do anything to get Michelle upset. Unfortunately for her, Michelle was unfazed by her words, saying, “I will die before I go back to Ezrah.”
Piper seemed pleased to hear that Michelle had no intention of reconciling with Ezrah. As long as Michelle stayed out of their lives, their relationship would be fine.
“That’s good, so stop being shameless and stop attacking my parents’ business,” she demanded. Michelle folded her arms across her chest, burying her emotions and remaining calm.
“Not until you are put behind bars for what you did to my child,” she said directly. Piper was still brazen-faced, yelling like an uneducated woman.
“I did nothing to a bastard.”
Another slap greeted her as soon as the word left her mouth. She staggered this time, her eyes turning blurry. “Choose your words carefully. This is my company,” Michelle warned sternly. Anything about her unborn child touched a sore spot inside her.
After two slaps, Piper’s vision distorted, and her thoughts were in shambles. “Michelle, you don’t know who you’re messing with. Wait until I have a meeting with the press about how you faked your death,” she threatened, but Michelle’s eyes only narrowed slightly.
