“Ezrah, I was with you throughout that time, so could you not have known if I caused it? And are you sure that Michelle is your ex-wife?”
Piper did not want to believe it, but Ezrah would not lie about something like that. If Michelle was indeed Zora, then did it mean she had been tricked? All the niceness was just to get something from her, but what could it be?
Also, she had let out a lot of information about herself and Ezrah, including her ex-boyfriend. If not for the facial mask, Piper would have been sweating bullets.
“She’s your friend, so why don’t you ask her?” Ezrah asked in annoyance before recalling something and saying,
“By the way, you are right in saying that you were with me when the accident happened, but I also remember that photos of us got to Zora when there were no cameras in the room. I can’t say that I believe you, but just make sure that your words are true.”
Piper’s heart sank. The subtlety of Ezrah’s words was embedded in the fact that he did not trust her. Why did she love him so much when his words sometimes could be so harsh?
“I am having this case re-opened, and if you are indeed involved, don’t forget that I gave you the chance to come clean.” Ezrah’s tone carried a full bucket of warning to it. His unborn child died before seeing the light of day.
Justice must be served even if Piper was the culprit. Piper peeled the mask from her face in anger when Ezrah walked out on her.
