“I am doing my best to meet with the CEO of MRAB Group. It's rather unfortunate how she’s always out of the office. I heard she has other businesses, and the secretary would not give me her personal number,” Ezrah replied helplessly. This was the first time he faced difficulty in meeting anyone.
They were always the ones drooling over him. He couldn’t blindly support the Henshaws without knowing what MRAB Group was up to. Everything seemed deliberate, and he had to know if the CEO was interested in helping the community or intentionally going against the Henshaws.
Lucas and Ethan exchanged glances. This was the first time Ezrah complained about anything. He was always all action and no talk, but now, he was all talk and no action.
“Come on, kid brother. You have all the charm. Isn’t that why our father chose and trusted you for this? Women have been throwing themselves at you, but it seems this woman hates your charm. If not for her name, I would have said she was a man, but come to think of it, she might be a lesbian, which is why she’s not interested in you.”
“No. Both the President and the CEO are women. I also heard they are both single. The only thing I have not been able to get are their photos, but it doesn’t seem as if they are based here in New York,” Luca mused. He kept thinking of the situation and revealed jokingly.
“Maybe they are old women with no grandchildren, so this might be their way of contributing to the community. If not, they are just lesbians dating each other. How else would they not want to see you? Aside from your good looks, your reputation is the most enviable in New York City.”
Ezrah was getting more and more annoyed with Lucas's words, as Ethan kept smiling like a fool. Piper was there as a reminder for Ezrah to deal with the situation for her, as her father feared her absence might take Ezrah’s mind off the matter.
She was just realizing that Ezrah has been doing his best to no avail.
