Bryce was all smiles as he made his way over to work later in the day. He wanted nothing more than to stay indoors with Hera all through the day, but sadly, he got an urgent call from his office concerning important work that needed his attention.
At first, he didn't want to, but Hera had forced him, pleaded with him to go ahead and handle it, but he had promised to get back home as soon as he could. He was only here for formality's sake and because he wanted to respect her wishes. She'd get upset with him if he didn't, and for the life of him, he didn't want that. The last thing he wanted to do was get on her bad side.
Doris helped to set up everything he needed for the day's work, and he couldn't wait to finish up on time so that he could go back home to Hera as quickly as possible.
"Would you like me to get you anything, sir?" Doris had asked after setting up everything that he needed to continue.
He waved her off. "No. You can go and don't let anyone in until I ask you to. I want to be left alone for now."
"Sure thing, boss!" she replied before shutting the door behind her as she made her way back to her position.
Bryce picked up his cellphone to scroll through some pictures of Hera, the ones he had taken of her earlier today before he left the house.
Damn! He was only away for a few hours, but he already missed her terribly. Maybe love wasn't such a bad thing after all. Maybe it was finally time for him to let himself cave in and let go of his fear from the past. Maybe it was time to move on. He just had to admit it, and the rest would finally be history.
