The conference is over, thank God. It's been a couple of days of constant back and forth between me and the board members over the acquisition of the new company, which has completely eaten into my time with Tiffany. I shouldn't have left her all by herself. I should have taken her with me here.
But anyway, I'll be going back tomorrow. I haven't told her yet, but I sure will. After this private party my overseas partners have set up, and I'm back at my hotel room, I plan to call her.
After the party, though, as I'm heading to my car, Caroline taps my shoulder, and when I turn and notice that it's her, my frown deepens.
"Don't tell me you followed me all the way here," I say.
She huffs. "In your dreams. I'm actually here for a party and couldn't help but notice you around. What happened? I know Paris isn't where you are supposedly having your honeymoon."
How is she able to find me? Like, why the hell is my life tangled with hers?
I roll my eyes. "That's none of your business."
