"What are you talking about?" I found myself asking after what felt like forever. The experiences of the people Voithós has shown us so far have only had disastrous ends, so why is it that I'm still asking about this even against my better judgment instead of asking him to just take us home? I really hope I don't regret this.
"I knew you'd be wise enough to take an opportunity when you see one," Voithós said, and I huffed. Who could have guessed that some spirits could be so annoying?
"As I said before, there is a way for you to get what you want without making a wish. You can just get the ability to speak through a miracle, but you'll receive it in the form of a gift because you'll have to earn it," Voithós said, throwing me into more confusion. I narrowed my eyes and bit my bottom lip softly. Is this really worth it?
I miss having Tara here with me. I've gotten so used to having her give me advice that I can't seem to tell right from wrong without her butting in with her annoyingly adorable advice.
"Please be more specific and stop wasting time. I have a daughter to take care of," I blurted.
"You don't seem to realize, so I'll tell you. No time passes in the world while we're here. While we're exploring the past, time in the present has stopped, so you have nothing to worry about. Concerning your second option; the goddess has the power to grant blessings, wishes, and miracles.
The blessings are unsolicited favors which she bestows on her children. The wish is a request that you can only make when you find the book, but it comes with consequences, either good or bad, depending on your wish. Lastly, a miracle is a request which she grants as a reward for your good deeds, that is, you have to earn it, and then your miracle will be granted as a gift," Voithós explained, and I thought over it.
If there was another way for me to permanently get a voice without making a wish, why didn't he tell me earlier? Why did he have to put Kayden and me through that psychological torture, Kayden especially?
