Having to live in such a huge room felt so strange to me. Not only was the room huge, but it was also decorated in style and in most of my favorite colors. I carefully sat on the silky queen-sized bed, and it sunk in, feeling so soft on my butt cheeks and definitely not like the cold, hard floor I had been made to sit and sleep on for years.
I let my body fall on the bed, and the silky sheets felt like pure heaven. I closed my eyes as my body felt good, and I was slowly drifting off to sleep when I heard a knock on my door.
I sat up and waited for the person to come in, but they didn't. I got up from the bed, went to open the door, and saw that it was Emily, and with her was a huge luggage.
"Her Highness said to bring these clothes for you," Emily said when she saw the questioning look I had.
I gave way for her to enter the room, and she did; she dropped the suitcase beside the bed. "Is there anything you need?" she questioned, and I shook my head in response.
She nodded and turned to leave, but on second thought, I stopped her. I signed to her that I needed a book and pen, and thankfully, she understood and promised to get it for me as soon as possible.
She left and came back quickly with a book and pen. I wrote a thank you note to her, and she smiled. She turned to leave once more but stopped before saying something.
"I have a feeling that you'll do great things, and it's not just because you look like Her Highness but because you seem to have a certain goodness in you, and I would be honored to be your friend," Emily said, and I smiled. I almost couldn't believe it; someone was extending a hand of friendship to me after so long. Emily would be my first friend here, and it felt amazing.
