WINTER MOON PACK.
MEETING ROOM.
King Magnus sat with his pack elders, each face serious as they discussed the preparations for the night’s shifting ceremony. Tonight was the full moon, an event of great importance among wolves, as it marked the annual rite where young wolves of 18 years would experience their first shift. Magnus’s expression was calm yet focused as he addressed Alpha Dylan, reminding him to spread the word to the neighboring Crescent Moon Pack so their wolves could also participate.
Alpha Dylan nodded, then leaned toward his Beta, Colin, whispering something in his ear. But Colin’s mind was elsewhere, barely acknowledging his Alpha’s words. His thoughts were a chaotic mix of envy and frustration as he mulled over the looming ceremony and what it meant. If the shifting ceremony happened tonight, then the mating ceremony wouldn’t be far behind—and Aria would truly belong to Magnus. Colin clenched his fists, determined to do something to stop that fate. He couldn’t stand the thought of losing her forever.
As the meeting concluded, Magnus retreated to his quarters and called Aria. She answered quickly, her voice lighting up his evening.
"Aria," Magnus began, his voice warm, "I hope you’re ready. Tonight is the shifting ceremony. It’s time for you to embrace your true nature."
There was a pause before Aria responded, a mix of excitement and surprise in her tone. "So soon? I mean, Elara hinted that it might be soon, but I didn’t expect tonight."
Magnus smiled, amused by her reaction. "The Moon Goddess has chosen this night for you, Aria. I’ll be right by your side. Prepare yourself—tonight will be unforgettable."
