THREE MONTHS LATER
It had been a quiet three months, the kind of peace I never thought I'd experience in my life, especially with everything that had happened before. The rogue attacks had ceased, and life in the Pack had returned to normal, with an almost dreamlike serenity settling over everyone. Magnus and I had grown closer with each passing day, and I found myself falling more deeply in love with him than I could have ever imagined. His strength and loyalty were unwavering, and his presence brought a sense of safety I desperately needed. The school was still closed down, but rumors had been flying that they may graduate us without exams.
Which was going to be best.
Regan was still in the hospital, his body resting in an endless sleep. The doctors reassured me he was responding to treatment, but the waiting was torture. Each visit was bittersweet, as I held his hand, hoping he could somehow feel me, hear me. Still, I held onto hope, praying he would wake up soon.
Tonight, however, was a night to leave our worries behind. Magnus had invited me to a celebration, the establishment of a new Pack Alpha. It was an important event, a chance for all the high-ranking pack members to come together in unity. I knew it would mean a lot to him if I joined him, so I pushed aside my fears and accepted his invitation.
When we arrived at the grand hotel where the event was being held, I was surprised by the sheer opulence of it all. The Pack members had spared no expense, decorating the place with shimmering lights, elegant floral arrangements, and tables filled with the finest food and drink. As we entered, Magnus held me close, and I felt his warmth radiate through me, giving me the courage to enjoy the night.
The room was filled with familiar faces, and as Magnus introduced me to the new Alpha, Morgan, I couldn't help but notice the energy in the room—strong, proud, yet welcoming. Alpha Morgan was charming and exuded the same aura of authority as Magnus, making it clear he'd be a great leader for his Pack. Soon, I spotted Dylan, Lily, and Colin across the room. They waved us over, and as the men launched into their conversation, Lily and I exchanged knowing glances.
With a playful wink, she tugged me by the arm, pulling me toward a private lounge away from the main celebration. "Come on, Aria! Let's have some fun!" she laughed, her eyes gleaming with mischief. I wanted to refuse, but I really needed this.
