Zander retired to his room. He removed the thick jacket and tee from his torso and tossed it on the chair by the side of the study table. He sunk into the soft plush mattress of his bed and grinned as the stills from the lunch he had five minutes ago crept into his head.
Wow. That was great. He could not recall having such a gladsome lunch in a while. If not the tasty curry rice Mrs. Brown prepared just for him, then Milan and her charm made the moment worth happiness.
She danced to her all-time favorite poem, 'Old Macdonald Had a Farm' as she introduced her new toy to everyone. She seemed happier than all the previous times when Zander got her a toy. She hugged it to herself and even offered 'the little white puppy,' known by the name 'Pappy,' some of her food.
And now post that amazing lunch, he rested his back against the feathery pillow and smiled. The burns on his skin hurt a little, but he anyways managed to adapt to it. Thanks to Jason. Whatever medicine he put on Zander's skin worked real quick and effectively.
It is a different thing that it was his own daughter who was the reason why he hurt himself like that, and he cannot even refuse the fact that he only helped him cure it. Or else, he would be mourning in awful pain now if Jason had not come on his father's call.
Anyways, that was all to stay in the past. Zander wanted to take some time and feel the goodness his life was gifting him with. Although things did mess up, everything went back to normal. He could not ask for anything more than this.
Yeah, he did yearn for Valen and wished to be with her, yet he was trying to act normal like himself, and not get affected by her.
The lids of his eyes came closing down; Zander inhaled slow deep breaths as he tried to perform some meditation. There were a lot of things playing in his head, still he concentrated on one thing—peace of his mind, which is really important nowadays.
