LUCIAN’S POV
I race through the shadows of the forest, my senses heightened, every fiber of my being focused on one target—Kael.
His scent is sharp, bitter, laced with fury and malice. I track him through the underbrush, my paws pounding the earth in silent strides, my eyes fixed ahead.
And then I see him, up ahead. I stalk up to him quietly from behind.
He doesn't know I'm here, doesn't sense me yet. I could end this quickly. Pounce now, catch him off guard, finish it before he even has a chance to fight back.
But no. That's not how this will end. I want him to see me, to know that I'm coming for him. I let out a low, threatening growl, a warning that shatters the silence of the night.
Kael spins around, his cold gray eyes narrowing as they lock onto mine. His face twists, a sneer forming as he realizes who stands before him.
"Lucian," he spits, his voice dripping with contempt. "Come to enforce your rule, Alpha?"
