"Are you alright?"
Chase was before me as I approached the table.
Tears were in my eyes, but I refused to let them drop. My mate had betrayed me in the worst way possible. Although he did not want me, although he had rejected me, I still felt the pain of having my mate make love to another.
"Did Enid say something hurtful?" Chase plodded, concerned, clouding his blue eyes.
I wagged my head, and no matter how hard I tried, a forced smile just couldn't bare my teeth. It was hard to tell him Enid was busy with some other woman.
Instead, I moved from Chase and took a seat by the table.
The jet-black-haired dude by the table looked away from his phone to my face.
