Eleanor:
Alpha Killian hissed in pain, and I frowned, removing the cloth from his hand for a second.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you,” I said, and he shook his head as he looked me in the eye.
“It’s just a sting,” he said, and I nodded.
The fact that he was actually allowing me to sit on his bed beside him as I tended to his cuts was something that I wouldn’t have expected, especially not as a maid who was working at his house.
I looked down at his hand, which was in mine, as he gently ran his finger over mine. I blushed but stayed completely still as I kept my eyes on his hand for a few seconds before slowly going back to cleaning the cut. I got up from the bed and walked toward the bathroom to clean the cloth from the blood, not wanting it to stain. And though he didn’t follow me, I didn’t have to turn around to know that he was looking at me.
However, I couldn’t help but feel somewhat secure around him, as if nothing could ever harm me, and that was a feeling that I don’t remember ever having with my own family.
I looked at myself in the mirror for a second, recalling his words before a small smile made its way to my lips. I shook my head and washed my own hands before turning toward the man who was still waiting for me on his bed.
